Saturday 2nd January sees our trial at John Whites farm in Newtownards. The trial will start at 11am and it will as usual take the format of 10 sections ridden over 4 laps. All grades will be catered for in both the adult and youth disciplines and there will be a separate course for the small wheeled, C,D and E youth.
Last year saw an absolutely massive entry of over 170 riders and this led to serious queuing issues. We took a few lessons from this and to address this and hopefully reduce queuing we will be running a larger lap extending out further into the fields. We have also looked at staggered starts, sending half the entry out to halfway round the lap, or maybe even starting the grades at separate times, all to help, this will decided on the morning of the event.
We will be setting out the course in the run up to the event and we are keen to get as much input from you the riders into the style and severity of the sections. So in light of this if any of you are keen and willing to help set the course out, contact one of the team to let us know!!
As usual getting volunteers to observe can be an issue at the best of times, never mind at this time of year so if anyone can observe it would be greatly appreciated. Again contact one of the team by way of email from our website or a message on Facebook.
Remember, bring an observer and you get a free entry!!!
The weather predictions are not the best, but hopefully it won’t get much worse than what we have seen and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday 2nd.
