Plans are coming together for Moto Trial NI’s next event @ Lough Fea on the 9th of November but as we all know trial bike events need observers. We are offering any rider that brings an observer a FREE entry… If any of you would like to come along and observe please get in touch via our website or on Facebook. Thank you

The JP Corry Slemish Cup Trial- 26th October

2013,

 Slemish Mountain, Broughshane

The off road motorcycle section of the Mid Antrim Motor Club Ltd will be promoting their Slemish Cup trial around the slopes of the famous County Antrim mountain near Broughshane on Saturday 26th October starting at 11am from the mountain car park. We are delighted to announce that The J.P.Corry Group, The Complete Builders Suppliers, are to continue with their sponsorship of the event this year. We are deeply indebted to the J.P.Corry Group for this support, coming especially in these difficult economic times. We are also very grateful to Ballymena Borough Council who assists the event with the use of the mountain car park and toilet facilities. The event would not be possible without the cooperation of all the landowners at Slemish who always support the club by allowing the use of their lands. The club are deeply indebted to all the landowners for all their help and cooperation.

After the success of Moto Trial NI’s 1st event a few weeks back, it’s time for some more! Saturday the 9th of November see’s the club launching it’s 1st round of their 6 round (5 to count) series @ a venue that has not been seen on the Northern Ireland Trials calendar for many’s a year, Lough Fea Cookstown!

We have listened to the feedback from the riders and are having portable toilet and catering van.

We have worked on the grading list which will be posted on the news feed very soon.

All the sections/grades will be at the same standard as John Whites Farm but with the addition of  ’coaching’ in the morning/early afternoon for anyone who wants it. These riders who want to work on whatever aspect of their riding they wish can then take in a couple of laps of the trial, hows that for a deal! All for the price of an entry.

We will be again providing a practice area for anyone who just wants to play around on their bike & for the more experienced rider there is some excellent practice area’s to choose from!!

And there’s more… we are delighted to announce the inclusion of the Oset, Electric bike @ Moto Trial NI’s event at Lough Fea. These little ‘kids’ bike’s will be present for the sole purpose of anyone who wants to come and ‘Try Trials’ So if you are a parent and want your son or daughter to come and have a go at our sport then this an excellent opportunity to do so and see if your child likes it. Riding gear will be provided and an area set aside for them to have a ride about under the guidance of one of our team. Cost £20.  These bikes have kindly been provided by Tom Scott & Stephen McKee from   http://www.jotagasni.com/

Please see the google map below for directions and the Trial will be signposted from the main A29 Moneymore – Cookstown road then from the B162 into the Quarry. Please be aware that the red marker on the map is not the location of the trial but is the correct road. The trial is opposite Lough Fea itself on the right which will be signposted.

Well folks some of the team were at Saturday’s trial venue this afternoon marking out the sections. They look really good and hopefully work out well for all levels, we really have put a lot of effort into ‘getting it right’ for the riders! The carpark field was in fact fine and yes lots of rain but the course will be spot on. Remember if you have not ridden a trial before and you want to have a go, bring your bike & gear, we will get you started and if you fancy a go at the trial we really have made sure your C line is perfect for getting started. To the A & B riders John will sort you into grades and the sections should be very enjoyable. We are also starting you in groups at different sections on the first lap to keep things flowing..  check some pictures I took from today! ps click on the photos to go into the gallery, you can see the sections better 🙂
