SGT G.P. Oliver Memorial Trial
We are very pleased to announce that we will be running a trial on Sunday 2nd May 2021 at Whitespots Trials Park. The trial will be held in memory of all the servicemen who were trained in Clandeboye Estate and the Old Leadmines before going off to fight in the First and Second World Wars.
We have recently discovered that 2021 will be the 80th anniversary of the largest Motorcycle Trial held by the Armed forces in Northern Ireland and it was held in the Leadmines in 1941.
A total of 70 riders took place in the event, split into 3 rider teams, the winning team was from the Air Formation Signals and the lowest individual score was posted by SGT G.P. Oliver, who we have chosen to dedicate the event to. More information can be found on https://wartimeni.com/location/co-down/conlig/whitespots/.
Due to the current Covid restrictions the trial will be limited to a maximum entry of 80 riders. The course will be 4 laps of 8 sections catering for Clubman, Sportsman and Novice/Beginner riders, the sections will also be suitable for Pre ’65, Twinshock and air-cooled mono machines.
The trial will be open to Whitespots Trials Park members only and anyone who can provide an observer will get a guaranteed free entry. Please let us know prior to the event, you can contact the club via Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Booking will open on Sunday 25th April 2021 at 7pm. Please go to https://www.mototrialni.com/practice-event-booking/.
Please choose the practice event “Trial” from a drop-down menu and your riding grade at the time of booking.
